Here are our projects on 1916 that were up around the school!!
Every Tuesday for the next 6 weeks we are getting the chance to go cycling in school!! It’s a brilliant way to spend an hour every Tuesday especially with the weather getting better!!
On Monday the 25th of April we got to go to Glasnevin Cemetery which was really interesting. We had an excellent tour guide who told us loads of stories about all the famous people buried in the graveyard. It was a great way to finish off the 1916 Centenary Celebrations.
We had a very successful cake sale in 6th class to raise money for our trip to Glasnevin Cemetery. We want to thank everyone in the school who bought some of our delicious cakes and also to everyone who helped us with the baking at home! Congratulations to our raffle winners who won prizes supplied by the children in the picture below!!
We had great fun taking part in the 1916 centenary celebrations that took place in our school and all around the country. We all helped write our very own class proclamation and also worked very hard on our 1916 projects which you can see below and were placed all around the school. We really enjoyed dressing up for the Proclamation Day which was held just before Easter. It was a great day and lots of fun!!
As part of Bio-Diversity Day we all produced individual projects on an animal of our choice. Here are all the projects below! We also made our very own Bird-feeders that we hung up all around the school and then put on display for Bio-Diversity Day. Well done to Katie, Jake, Rachel Byrne and Leah for working on our presentation stand in the hall. Also below are some of the projects we produced all about birds.
For Christmas we decorated the classroom and put up our tree. We also painted images onto the classroom windows that was great fun! Everyone got a chance to paint! We also made clay cribs and decorated them with hay! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of Mr Cloherty’s 6th class!!!
We had a great opportunity to meet with some of the teachers and students from transition year in the Community College. We had a chance to ask questions and get some insight on what subjects to choose next year! We all made projects on what subject we wanted to find out more about! It was a great day and a big thank you to the Community College!!
We produced some wonderful projects on the country of Greece! All the children worked really hard and it was very difficult to pick a winner!! We all learned loads about Greece and are already looking forward to our next project after Christmas!
We had a cake sale in 6th class and raised a lot of money for a great cause! Thanks to all the parents for all the help.
