After numerous trials and only being able to pick 16 boys from almost 60, Michael O Regan, Ms O Brien and Ms O Mahony headed off to Abbotstown for the FAI SPAR 5 aside soccer tournament. We had two teams entered into the competition. Both teams played very well considering the pace of the game and it being 5 a side soccer. The decision on who was to leave the group stages came down to the last match for one of the teams. Unfortunately St Ciaran’s knocked us out of the competition, however they went on to win the overall tournament on the day.
The boys played extremely well with outstanding performances from so many of them. A huge thank you to Ms Daly and Michael for organising the event. We wish the girls the very best of luck on Thursday 30th!
At ten o’clock, we went over to Ms Daly’s classroom and met a storyteller. She told great stories. One was called “An Gadaí” (The Thief) and the other was called “Bríd na Amhráin” (Bríd of the Songs). Those stories were written by Patrick Pearse.
Tháinig an scéalaí go dtí an scoil ar a deich a chlog inniu. D’inis sí scéalta dúinn. Scríobh Pádraig Mac Piarais na scéalta. Bhí na scéalta an suimiúil. Bhí an scéalta go hiontach.
There was a talk today on Irish history from the period of the famine to Michael Collins.

As preparation for their confirmation, the sixth class pupils have been doing three fundraisers for St Vincent de Paul.
One of the fundraisers was for each pupil to bring in some non-perishable food for the St Vincent de Paul “Food Appeal”. As you can see from the picture they brought lots of food for the less fortunate.
Also as to raise money, all of the children brought in their families’ spare change which raised €295 to buy toys for the St Vincent de Paul “Toy Appeal”.
As a little extra the sixth classes are hosting a “Jingle Jumpers” day where they all wear a Christmas jumper etc. and bring in €1 for the “Toy Appeal”.
A big thank you to all involved.

Welcome to our class blog. Our teacher’s name is Ms. Daly. We really enjoyed our first week in St. Molaga’s. So far we have had great fun and worked very hard. We did history and made timelines and we did ‘Buddy Reading’ with 6th class. We learned a new poem – ‘Mary had a Little Pet’ , and a new song ‘Splish Splash Splosh’. We now get to run on the yard and we played football on Wednesday on the new all-weather pitch. In P.E. we learned a new game called ‘Rivers and Bridges’. Today is Friday and we are allowed a treat. Later on we are going to play board games. We all really like our new school and we are looking forward to next week. Thanks for reading our blog – talk to u soon!
