During Active Week we had the great chance of trying out tennis. For many of us it was our first time trying the sport. Maybe there’ll be a Roger Federer from Balbriggan in the future!
We had great fun completing a range of orienteering activities during Active Week. Our favourite activitiy was completing the map of the school from an birds eye view. We loved how the activities involved both physical and mental challenges!
We have been running three laps of the Astro pitch almost every day since September. It is great exercise and we have al improved our fitness and speed. Earlier in the year we completed the Kids Marathon where we ran the last mile of a full marathon in Santry. We learned that a marathon is 26.2 miles or 42.195 kms.
We had Cycling Skills lessons with Mick and Shane every Tuesday for a month and a half. We learned lots of important cycle safety skills such as how to make turns safely, how to dress appropriately while cycling and where you should be positioned the road. We also learned how to read and understand different road signs. At the end we received a cycling certificate to show we completed the Primary School Training course from the Irish Centre for Cycling.
On Friday, the Junior Boys became Fingal champions when they beat Holy Trinity in Parnell Park. It was a fantastic match and both teams played brilliantly. The final score was 3:10 to 2:08. It was a great day out for St. Molaga’s and we are very proud of the entire team. Congratulations to Adam, Keith and Gavin from our class on their achievement. Well done boys!
