Keep calm and fight like a Viking !

Our topic over the last few weeks in History has been the Vikings. We really enjoyed learning lots of interesting facts about who they were, where they came from,  how they lived and what they are know for.

Vikings were seafarers, who spoke the Old Norse language. They raided and traded across wide areas of northern and central Europe, as well as European Russia, during the late 8th to late 11th centuries.

Here are our projects we completed today!

Jungle Fever

Each animal woke up in the day,  while the snakes were tangled in their own way.  The lion is somehow  kind, while a monkey is stuck in a vine.

The giraffe is painted red. Who is this pasty head!?  The thing that done this all but they must be big and tall.

But something flew in the breeze. Oh it’s parrot in the trees! Kind, red, glowing parrot. But listen to what parrot said…. “April Fools!!”

BananaGrams!!

Hello Everybody,

This morning we played a game called BananaGrams.  If you are wondering what BananaGrams is , its a game where you make words out of tiles.  The First team to use up all their words are the winners and they shout BANANAS! .

We worked in groups and made words using vowel digraphs.

Our Opinion it is a fun game to play however when you run out of vowels it gets very tricky!!!

Fingal All Weather Pitch Opening

Our class was picked to go to the all weather pitch opening on Wednesday 15th April. We were picked because we were the best behaved on the yard. One class from each year was picked. We all went down to the astroturf at twelve o’clock.

We played soccer, Gaelic, SNAG Golf and a game called Goblins and Leprechauns. We all enjoyed playing golf and one of the coaches called Jake Tiger Woods! (We thought he should have called him Rory McIlroy instead!)

After we’d played the games, the pitch was officially opened. The ribbon was cut by the Mayor of Fingal. Speeches were made by the President of the GAA, Vice-President of the FAI and Minister James Reilly.

Innocent Smoothie Sow and Grow

Our class is taking part in the Sow and Grow project. All our materials arrived before our Easter Holidays.  We planted our cress seeds yesterday. We put them on a windowsill hopefully they will get lots of sunlight. Today we are going to fill in our grow diaries.  Next week we will plant courgette seeds and then pumpkin seeds. We can’t wait to plant the pumpkin seeds. We also have tomato plants growing in our classroom. SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES
